Vittorio - Tino Brambilla mix up (Sept 2010 issue)

The reason Pedro Rodriguez had to borrow Tino helmet that day was that he was not supposed to be driving: Tino had not been demoted at all: he was unable to drive having suffered an accident while testing a 500cc. Hannah Paton GP motorcycle for his friend Lini Tonti a few days before. (It has to be remembred here that as his brother Vittorio Tino had been a motorcycle rider , having also won a couple of Italian championships many years before and that in those days the Gran Premio delle Nazioni - the bike GP - always took place the sunday after the F1 GP). On Carlos Eduardo Jalife-Villalon´s excellent book THE BROTHERS RODRIGUEZ on pages 468 and 469 there are pictures of a cheery and injured Tino handing over to Pedro not only his helmets, but also his fireproof overalls and underwear.
